LCA to Offer Paid Internships In Support of a Movement to Reduce the Number of Unpaid Internships

This unique opportunity has an innovative compensation plan in which the interns’ rate of pay is based directly on work performance and quality of work.

New Virtual Academic Assistance Service to Aid Overloaded Professors

September 26, 2011 by

Linnie Carter & Associates LLC (LCA) has launched a new service, virtual academic assistance, which is designed to alleviate the stress caused by the budget cuts and organizational changes occurring in colleges and universities throughout the United States.

The impact of the downturned economy has gone beyond businesses and corporations and reached our colleges and universities. According to the National Association of State Budget Officers, in the last three years, colleges and universities in at least 43 of the 50 states have experienced budget cuts, causing a significant reduction in the number of faculty members. This leaves many colleges and universities understaffed and the faculty overloaded with increased workloads and administrative tasks.

As a result of the trend, professors are faced with increased hours and responsibilities but no increase in staff support. As a result, teaching faculty members have to divide their limited time between administrative responsibilities and their primary commitment, instructing their students. LCA’s new virtual academic assistance service allows professors to focus more on their passion of teaching while LCA handles their administrative tasks.

LCA President and CEO Linnie S. Carter, Ph. D., APR said, “Since I am a full-time faculty member at a public university, I understand first-hand the challenging demands this organizational shift has caused in institutions of higher education. Based on conversations I have had with my peers in higher education, I am convinced this service is needed more today than ever before.”

LCA virtual academic assistants seamlessly provide an array of administrative support, including syllabi development, online grade book management and PowerPoint presentation development. More information can be found on the LCA website at http://linniecarter.com/services/virtual-academic-assistance/.
