In March and May 2019, Dr. Linnie S. Carter, APR, the president and CEO of Linnie Carter & Associates LLC and a community college vice president, served as a guest speaker for several events:

On March 28, she spoke to students at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture and shared “10 Strategies for High-Performing Mass Communications Majors to Jumpstart Their Careers.”

On May 2, she spoke to participants in the Learning to LEAD by Example and Determination Program. The program is offered by the Pennsylvania Office of Administration. A book, The 21 Indispensable Qualities of a Leader, is the framework for the leadership program. Dr. Carter discussed one of the qualities – communication – and provided tips on how to improve oral and written communications.

On May 3, she co-presented with a colleague about “Women, Gender and Social Media: Emerging Female Thought Leaders” at an annual community college symposium. The presentation explored the journeys of four prominent women - Amy S. Choi, Ellen DeGeneres, Dolores Huerta and Janet Mock - and how they create and facilitate radical and positive change through social media.

On May 21, she presented during the 2019 PA Community Alliance Summit. Her topic was “How to Be Advocates for Women of Color in the Workplace.” Using the acronym GRACE, she provided five strategies about this type of advocacy.

Dr. Linnie Carter Elected Vice Chair of CASE Advisory Committee

Her two-year term began on July 1.
The Center for Community College Advancement Advisory Committee “identifies learning opportunities and professional development needs for community college advancement professionals, identifies trends and best practices to showcase and builds support for the center.”
Dr. Linnie Carter Speaks at Asian American Pakistani Heritage Celebration

Dr. Linnie S. Carter, APR, the president and CEO of Linnie Carter & Associates LLC and a community college vice president, spoke at the first-ever Asian American Pakistani Heritage celebration in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. The theme was “Celebrating Women in Strength and Diversity.”
During the celebration on May 12, Dr. Carter discussed the strengths, struggles and successes of successful women and highlighted one such woman in particular. She also listed 10 lessons learned by strong and successful women.
