In March, May and June 2021, Dr. Linnie S. Carter, APR, the president and CEO of Linnie Carter & Associates LLC and a community college vice president, shared her expertise in leadership, advancement, diversity, equity and inclusion with a variety of audiences:

On March 2, 2021, she was a co-presenter for the 2021 Virtual InnovationsConference hosted by the League for Innovation in the Community College. The presentation was titled “Leading and Organizing With Philanthropy at the Center.”

On May 27, 2021, she was a co-presenter for the 2021 AACCDigital Agenda, a national conference. The presentation was titled “How to Use Philanthropy to Collaborate for Student Success.”

On June 9, 2021, she was a moderator for a panel discussion, “Survive vs. Thrive: What your Black Advancement Colleagues Want You to Know about Navigating Complex Environments,” hosted by CASE.

In May 2021, Dr. Carter also completed the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate offered by the University of South Florida Muma College of Business.

Dr. Linnie Carter Virtually Addresses Graduating Students at Alma Mater

Dr. Carter is a two-time alumna of VCU and serves on the Virginia Commonwealth University Richard T. Robertson School of Media and Culture Advisory Board.

Three Black women-owned companies have created a cooperative to focus on inclusion and diversity.

Cynthia Butler, MSOL, HCS, president and CEO of Courageous Conversations & Coaching, LLC, said, “As experts in our respective fields, we undertake this work with the added cultural insights and affinity to address individual and organizational challenges on the topics of education, race, faith and cultural communications. My focus on the public, private and faith communities brings accountability modeling that can shape ally engagement while coaching through courageous conversations that can make a difference.”
